Now, you may ask, how do biblical eschatology, astronomy, and astrophysics intersect? Surprisingly well, given what has happened over the last few years in those fields. At first, as you look at what I am going to say, you may think that I am out on the lunatic fringe, which may cause you to immediately dismiss the possibilities, maybe going so far as to shut the door of your mind to investigating any of what I will talk about. Please don’t. I am not over the top when I say not only your life but your eternal destiny may depend on your response to what I will say. Dismiss it if you want, but give it a fair hearing first. After all, saying I told you so is no consolation when you have no chance to alter the course your choices have sealed you into. At least understand the stakes surrounding your choices. I will keep this short and to the point.
Biblical Apocalyptic Eschatology
I lived through the Charismatic Renewal in the U.S. (beginning in 1967 and, according to some, still ongoing) and the subsequent explosion of concerns about Armageddon and Jesus’ Second Coming. I read Hal Lindsay’s The Late Great Planet Earth (which helped precipitate my born-again experience in Jesus Christ). His description of his salvation experience and the kind Southern Baptist woman I worked for when I found Lindsay’s book was instrumental in my journey to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of my eternal life. While I later came to disagree with Lindsay’s eschatological presuppositions, his book started me on my profound Christian journey, which I continue traveling to this day.
Over ten years ago, while exploring end-time eschatology, I came across a website (www.ezekielsfire.com) [The site may or may not be available / It has been up and down recently. Another site, OmegaShock, may or may not be available] that discussed an argument in the Bible that described future events in our solar system. If these prophetic accounts are accurate, and I believe they are, these events would end with the significant destruction of most life on this earth. You can also find the physical book Ezekiel’s Fire by the author John Little on Amazon.
Catastrophism Science (Astronomy and Astrophysics)
Thanks to John Little, I found a group that has been scientifically examining the evidence for this catastrophe, marshaling astronomy, astrophysics, and multiple earth sciences. They are centered around the website Space Weather News, formerly Suspicious Observers. They also have a YouTube and an X.com presence. Their leader, Ben Davidson, has directed their investigation of these phenomena for over 20 years. His team has compiled an impressive amount of data supporting their positions, including input from some renowned astrophysicists, including former NASA and other well-known agency scientists.
You can explore their materials at your leisure, but the evidence they have compiled is beyond impressive. It all points to one thing: the events described by John Little that he found laid out in the Bible are real; they are coming, and there is nothing we can do to stop what will happen. That sounds stark. If you are willing even to entertain the possibility, you may wonder how much time is left before this avalanche of events kicks off. I hate to say, “That depends,” but it is true. There are many variables that will determine both the sequence of events leading up to the unavoidable finale and their timing. You really need to examine their evidence and arguments.
What to do?
In the end, that’s the question. I am old enough that planning to survive this event or even the mini-events leading up to the finale is not a viable option. The Lord promises us 70 years and, if blessed, 80. I have been and continue to be blessed, and I am thankful beyond measure for that. You will have to make your own decision.
However, I am trying to do one thing: evangelize and call as many people as possible to accept the saving grace of the blood of Jesus Christ, to bow their knee, confess him as God come in the flesh for the propitiation of their sins, and be saved. In the end, nothing else matters. Nothing. We will all die…every single one of us. As the epistle to the Hebrews tells us in 9:27-29: Amplified Bible “27And just as it is appointed and destined for all men to die once and after this [comes certain] judgment, 28 so Christ, having been offered once and once for all to bear [as a burden] the sins of many, will appear a second time [when he returns to earth], not to deal with sin, but to bring salvation to those who are eagerly and confidently waiting for Him.”
So, your choice. There is nothing wrong with preparing to survive what is coming, as Ben and the Observers (and many others) are doing. It is the logical thing to do, especially if you have children and the resources to pull it off. However, even that means nothing in the end without the blood of Jesus Christ bringing salvation to your lost soul. Why? Because even if you survive this catastrophe, one day, you will still die. You will stand before that “certain judgment.” We all will. I plan to meet that moment covered in the saving blood of Jesus Christ, my new man washed clean by the sacrifice on the cross of the Lamb of God, made sure by His resurrection. I pray you will join with me.
God bless you; God keep you, and may His saving blood wash you clean, casting your sin as far as the East is from the West. Amen.
