Baltimore-Washington Area Christian Blogger Meetup

Last night, thanks to the efforts of David Wayne of JollyBlogger, we had our second Baltimore-Washington Area Christian Blogger Meetup, with six of us going to see the premier of Serenity (more about that later). The restaurant was Buca Di Beppo’s in Gaithersburg, MD, a family style Italian eatery. Keeping with the spirit of the place, dishes were liberally shared around the table and everyone had a great time.

There were some new faces since our last gathering, including LaShawn Barber, whose blog LaShawn Barber’s Place is currently ranked #33 on the TLB Ecosystem. Her unique perspective as an African-American Christian conservative sometimes generates a lot of interesting responses to her postings. She has also been featured on several cable news shows over the last year and a documentary team from the BBC, doing a piece on blogging and how it affects peole’s lives, recently spent a day filming her. I am sure LaShawn will let us know when the piece will be aired. Our other highly ranked blogger is David Wayne who comes in at #272. Rankings aside, it is obvious that everyone present enjoys writing and this is a dedicated and talented group of witnessing Christians who are using the gifts God gave them to make an impact for him in the blogosphere.

I took a few pictures, which I include below. I hope these happy faces, having an obvious good time, inspire you to join us next time. My apologies to Jack Yoest for only getting him in profile. I promise next time to get his good side. 😉

Oh, I almost forgot. It wouldn’t be a gathering of bloggers if someone wasn’t trying to blog. The Yoests fought the available wireless networks in the area until Charmaine was able to get internet access and begin writing. Once a geek, always a geek, even if we are writers at heart. 😉

One additional thing. I posted all of the email addresses using the Natada Anti-Spam Encoder to prevent the emails from being harvested. I highly recommend you getting it and best of all its free!

  1. William,

Thanks for sharing the photographs. I think the head shots worked better than the group photos from last time. Good eye.

    Terry
